Change Management

It is imperative that leaders have a thorough understanding of the many leadership styles available, especially because leadership is not a static style. In order to manage change effectively in an organization, leaders need to adapt their approaches to fit specific situations (Goetsch & Davis, 2014). Leadership styles play an important role in the development of a constructive culture that will lead to employee engagement, adaptability, and teamwork.
Democratic leadership style entails including members of the team in decision-making process, giving them trust, and encouraging their creativity. This leadership style is very helpful as far as getting results of a healthy organizational culture is concerned. This style also helpful in achieving high productivity and job satisfaction.
Transformation leadership style also influences the development of a good organizational culture. According to (Hayes, 2014), transformation leaders can inspire their followers, and they can anticipate the upcoming challenges. They, thus, can be able to execute the plans required, raising the sense of confidence and the expectations of their followers. This will increase the degree to which the employees will be committed to the company.
The Prosci ADKAR model is a simple yet practical change management theory. It is best suited to instrumental change, and it stresses the need for leaders to understand how to change, have the desire to bring about change, and implement new behaviors and skills. This change management theory makes it possible for leaders, both transformational and democratic, to bring about change by influencing the development of a good culture.
